“Make sure to taste your words before you let them out of your mouth.” ~Amera’s Mom
This book is such an incredible tool to help children with emotional development, empathy and kindness. Especially in a quarantine—where there will be occasional bickering and misunderstandings between siblings.
This is a story about discovering that mean words leave a bad taste in our mouths while “kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul…”(Proverbs 16:24).
Words are powerful—for they can tear down or build up.
Amera learns to turn the taste of lemons and dirt, when she says mean things, for sugary sweet cherries when she apologizes.
The author—Bonnie Clark—continues to be such an inspiration in my own personal journey of writing. She is always so supportive and encouraging! It’s a blessing to know her—she is the most beautiful soul. I love her work, perseverance and story of success!
